Scott Leader: Producer/Engineer/Songwriter
Scott Leader has worked in world class recording studios across the country focusing on independent music with notable producers and engineers. Through these experiences he has created a fluid style of production that meets the needs of each individual artist and can provide a custom ‘feel’ for each project.
Scott has both BS and BA degrees from the University of Arizona and a M.Ed from the Arizona State University. He has experience as an elementary school science teacher, summer camp director, assistant principal, and touring musician. Scott is also one of the few certified Expert Pro Tools operators in Arizona.
Scott began producing and recording music in high school while growing up in New Jersey. It was during this time he cultivated his love for music and the studio process at the dawn of digital recording. During college, he started performing live concerts and producing albums for artists in multiple cities. He began professional work at studios in Austin, Texas and Los Angeles, California honing his skills as a producer for many genres of music including folk, rock, religious, and classical.
As a professional artist and musician, Scott has released five albums of original music. He has traveled across the world performing concerts and leading production and songwriting workshops. His music has been featured on national compilations CDs, Sirius/XM radio, and he has won several song writing awards.
Scott is also part of the award winning trio “Sababa,” a contemporary Jewish music rock band.
Scott is now producing albums for all genres of music and artists full time here at Brick Road Studio in Scottsdale, AZ and teaching music production at Arizona State University.

Michael Levin – Producer/Writer/Cellist
A Scottsdale, Arizona native, Michael Levin has been performing music since the age of five. The son of two Phoenix Symphony violinists, Levin received a classical musical education and developed a distinctive style playing cello, guitar, piano and bass. He currently composes, records and plays with a wide range of artists. Inspired and highly motivated, Levin is establishing a name for himself as an electric cellist and he continues to bring the art of the cello to life in a new age. Paul A Anderson
Paul studied saxophone, improvisation and composition at the University of Miami with Dennis Diblasio and Ken Nigro. He has been heard and encouraged by Stan Getz and Wynton Marsalis in his travels, and although health issues has kept him from front line touring, he stil blows a mean sax! He currently DJs evenings on KJZZ FM in Phoenix, Arizona.
(We are extremely sad to say the Paul Anderson died earlier this spring. He was a huge part of our family and sound. Paul’s talent and most importantly his kindness will be missed.)
Joel Gottschalk
Joel Gottschalk has his BA fron the University of Arizona in Music. He has performed with the Barnum and Bailey circus, The Funkamentals, and Seven To Blue. Joel has been featured on hundreds of studio albums and is able to perform any style of bass from acoustic upright jazz and classical to electric funk and fretless rock. Joel is also an acomplished arranger and studio engineer. He is currently on tour with Philip Sayce.
Jeff Friedl
Jeff Friedl is a Los Angeles based drummer who has performed across the country with notable acts such as Domingo Degrazia, Shane Alexander, Tim Weed, ASHES dIVIDE, Zack Hexum, Alonso Brito, and more. He can provide a varied array of percussion style across all genres. Jeff is currently on tour with DEVO and Puscifer.
Jack Sterbis
Jack Sterbis has a BA in Music with Percussion Performance from the University of Arizona and he is a graduate of the Los Angeles Music Academy. He freelances in all genres of music and has years of studio expereince producing electronic music and hip hop. Jack is currently on tour with Sergio Mendoza.
Glen West
Glen West received his BA in Education and Music from Arizona State University. He is also a graduate of the Musicians Institute of Technology in California. Helping people achieve their musical goals and dreams is a profession that Glen takes great pride and joy in. This is why he has spent the past twenty two years trying to become the studio musician he could be.
Joe Costello
Joe was born in New York State and moved to The Big Apple after graduating college with a music performance degree.
During the early years of Joe’s career in NYC, he performed in various groups with some of the best jazz musicians in the world. He has performed with bassist Ben Wolfe, trumpeter Joe Magnarelli, saxophonist Jerry Weldon, trumpeter Tom Harrell and pianist Joel Weiskopf to name a few. When not touring, Harry Connick Jr. and musicians from his band would sit in with Joe’s jazz quartet.
Joe’s has some jazz chops, but considers himself an accomplished rock, blues, funk and pop drummer who spent many years recording and touring the east coast music scene and regularly performed at national festivals.
In 2004, Joe left NY for the southwest in search of warmer weather, new industry connections and more opportunities to tour and record. His pocket groove, stylistic approach and the depth & breadth of his musical knowledge, was greeted with open arms.
Joe stays busy with a heavy regional live performance schedule, touring to other parts of the country, recording drum/percussion tracks for various artists and giving back through his clinics. In addition to his time spent behind the kit, Joe runs Onstage Entertainment Group, which books concerts, events and music for a variety of venues and bands.
When in Arizona, Joe often performs with well-known organist Papa John DeFrancesco. Joe has also performed with Damon Johnson (guitarist/vocalist for Alice Cooper, Thin Lizzy, Brother Cane, Black Star Riders), Joey DeFrancesco,Kenny Passarelli (bassist for Joe Walsh, The James Gang, Elton John), Johnny DeFrancesco and Francine Reed (backup vocalist with Lyle Lovett), Eddie Turner, Kara Hesse & Kevin Miso. In early 2015, Joe started touring regionally with Leroy Miller (Smash Mouth, Macy Gray, John Mayer).
